About

I am a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University, focusing on Multiphysics Geomechanics. My research areas are quantitative and qualitative methods for earthquake and landslide early warnings. I am a 2022-2023 Fulbright Research Fellow (Nepal), 2022 Graduate Research Training Enhancement Grantee, and Rhodes Graduate Fellow in Interdisciplinary Research.

For the past three years I have built the foundation and advanced development of an earthquake early warning system for Kathmandu, in partnership with the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, including the design and management of an ongoing 5-year Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk and Duke University. I have since continued managing the project and ongoing collaboration via a Duke-centered multi-disciplinary research effort considering technology, disaster management, and hazard analysis in the 2020-2021 academic year. I am keenly interested in continuing my work in earthquake early warning throughout my PhD.
